It's that time of year again where we will be fundraising funds for our annual scholarships! Last year we set a goal of $15,000 and were able to fundraise $20,000!

This was an amazing accomplishment for BAPA and with your support and a partnership with Bosana we were able to offer four undergraduate scholarships. This year, in honor of our 10 year anniversary, we hope to raise $25,000 to offer our talented, young professionals with more opportunities!

The BAPA Scholarship aims to assist Bosnian-American students in navigating the educational system and in furthering their professional goals. BAPA recognizes that by helping students further their education, we are investing in the growth of future leaders of the Bosnian-American community.

BAPA’s primary purpose is to provide networking opportunities for fellow Bosnian-Americans and foster continued professional growth in our community. We are planning to accomplish these goals through community outreach, mentoring programs, and a scholarship fund, while strengthening connections to our homeland.

BAPA envisions an organization that will assist Bosnian-Americans in navigating the education system and aid professionals in furthering their career goals at all stages of educational and professional development.

Fildzan Kahve is our virtual networking series. We will schedule more dates after our annual forum. We look forward to seeing you soon!

From a financial standpoint, the BAPA scholarship funded a portion of my final two semesters, allowing me to stay on track with my Master of Social Work graduate degree. On a professional, academic, and personal level, it empowered me to further explore a passion of mine and gave me a platform to share it with our community. This led to insightful conversations and connected me with like-minded individuals who I see myself engaging and collaborating with in the future. I truly enjoyed every moment -- from being inspired by the other presentations to forming new friendships and bonding over kolo -- it was all a phenomenal experience. Summed up, the scholarship and forum exceeded my expectations and I will forever be grateful for this one-of-a-kind opportunity and the amazing people it introduced me to!

I benefited from the scholarship as it gave me the opportunity to go to Visegrad and visit survivor activists. It assisted me in collecting research for the dissertation and was vital in understanding the ongoing memorial projects for sexual violence survivors in Bosnia. I enjoyed meeting other Bosnians and hearing about the types of project/work others are involved in, and it helped me understand that there are more Bosnians in the diaspora who are also working in higher education/the law.
