From a financial standpoint, the BAPA scholarship funded a portion of my final two semesters, allowing me to stay on track with my Master of Social Work graduate degree. On a professional, academic, and personal level, it empowered me to further explore a passion of mine and gave me a platform to share it with our community. This led to insightful conversations and connected me with like-minded individuals who I see myself engaging and collaborating with in the future. I truly enjoyed every moment -- from being inspired by the other presentations to forming new friendships and bonding over kolo -- it was all a phenomenal experience. Summed up, the scholarship and forum exceeded my expectations and I will forever be grateful for this one-of-a-kind opportunity and the amazing people it introduced me to!

I benefited from the scholarship as it gave me the opportunity to go to Visegrad and visit survivor activists. It assisted me in collecting research for the dissertation and was vital in understanding the ongoing memorial projects for sexual violence survivors in Bosnia. I enjoyed meeting other Bosnians and hearing about the types of project/work others are involved in, and it helped me understand that there are more Bosnians in the diaspora who are also working in higher education/the law.
