Want to join us in making a positive impact?
BAPA is currently looking Bosnian professionals who are excited to share their skills and knowledge as board members.
Board of Directors Membership
BAPA is able to provide resources to the Bosnian American community due to the hard work and dedication of its board members. Board members are expected to commit a substantial amount of time to further BAPA’s mission. Attending our online monthly meetings is mandatory, and board members are expected to allocate one to two hours per week to BAPA-related tasks. Additionally, board members are required to pay annual dues and raise funds for BAPA initiatives.
Our board consists of seven committees focused on the following areas: Scholarship, Membership, Marketing & Technology, Homeland, Governance, Events, and Mentorship.

Scholarship Committee
Board members on this committee oversee tasks related to our scholarship initiative, including raising money for the scholarship fund, evaluating applicants’ submissions, choosing winners, and working closely with recipients to ensure they have a compelling project to present at our annual forum. The Scholarship Committee works alongside the other six committees to aid in the creation of social media posts advertising BAPA’s financial aid offerings. In the near future, this committee will also organize workshops geared toward high school students seeking guidance on the college application process. If you have experience in education or as a mentor and want to support the next generation of Bosnians, the Scholarship Committee is right for you!
Membership Committee
This committee focuses on outreach, from identifying new partners BAPA can team up with to executing campaigns that increase BAPA’s presence in underserved Bosnian communities across America. Board members on this committee work hard to establish connections with non-profit organizations and companies whose values align with our own. The Membership Committee collaborates with other committees to ensure vital information is communicated across BAPA’s team. If you have an aptitude for fostering and strengthening professional and personal relationships, you’ll fit right in!

Marketing & Technology Committee
Members of this committee oversee BAPA’s social media pages. Responsibilities include crafting digital content, organizing and following a consistent posting schedule, and executing social media campaigns that draw attention to our annual forum and scholarship initiative. Additionally, the M&T Committee updates and maintains BAPA’s website, ensuring our digital presence is strong. Recently, we have begun featuring original content on our website, including interviews with accomplished Bosnian professionals, so committee members also write and publish materials for our blog. If you’re a marketing or tech whiz, this is the committee for you!
Homeland Committee
All BAPA members have a strong connection to their homeland, but members of this committee take it a step further. Homeland Committee members focus on fostering and maintaining relationships with organizations, institutions, and companies in the Balkans to support students and working professionals in Bosnia. Members of the Homeland Committee have strong Bosnian language skills and foster ways for BAPA to directly support people in Bosnia. Alongside other committees, the Homeland Committee works hard to spread BAPA’s mission across the globe.

Governance Committee
The Governance Committee oversees administrative, financial, and legal tasks. These tasks include maintaining BAPA’s non-profit status, filing pertinent paperwork, and ensuring donated funds are processed efficiently. Additionally, members of this committee assist others with growing BAPA’s field of vision regarding financial initiatives and programming. If you have experience in law, finance, or an equivalent field, the Governance Committee would be happy to have you!
Events Committee
Members of the Events Committee focus on the logistics of our annual forums and monthly Fildžan Kahve networking events. They decide on physical locations for our events, research and reserve accommodations based on BAPA’s budget, and more. Those with experience planning large-scale events would do well on this committee!

Mentorship Committee
BAPA’s newest committee oversees our mentorship program. As a board member of the Mentorship Committee, you’ll work on mentor outreach, review mentor and mentee applications, and serve as the liaison between mentors and mentees.
